Last night, Horace, Angie (Horace's cousin) and I went out for West-Coast Indian foods last night! Horace is the oldest amongst all of his cousins from both mom's and dad's sides. It is amazing to see that Horace in 'Big-Bro' mode who takes care of other younger 'siblings.'
Many friends have asked us about our stress-level of wedding planning! To be honest, it is quite high but it is manageable. It is a happy stress afterall :) Both of us are willing to share the joy and sorrows together, which is the most important part!
After working for a few years, I have started to develop a better capacity to handle stress because everyday is about changes and challenges within own control. Say facing an audience of hundreds... handling irresponsibilities... cooperating in small spaces... communicating constructively... accepting criticisms... Many good lessons to have learnt!
I'm just like another 26-year old: teaching young kids, mothering the family, and serving the church. Sometimes, strangers don't understand that I'm also a 'human being' just like who they are - except they don't want have themselves committed or involved in any groupings.
It is sad for me to see this sociological phenomenon - more and more people only choose for short and casual relationships, in terms of personal and work lives!
It is even sadder for me to see more and more people are more motivated by materialism, than by the real desires from within. They want money, because money can give them security.
To me, money is essential to maintain a good and healthy lifestyle. I don't need extravagant things and believe that true happiness only comes from God!
There is a new term that I coined recently -- economics of good faith. Sometimes, money is second but I think that whoever we invite to our wedding that we are already blessed! Same as Horace, I don't like to talk about cheesy things too. However, we also truly believe in 'what goes around, comes around.' Hopefully, our wedding can be an inspiration for many years to come!
Thanks for all the goods and bads in life to make me more human.
